SkillPages - Is it Useful

I had also registered with Skill Pages, thinking it to be a platform, where I can meet clients interested in hiring writers. Registration did not take long, for I used my Facebook account to get registered. I had to complete my profile and give details of type of skill, I had, options I preferred, etc. It said get hired using connections, and then I found I had to recommend my skills to my friends, I did not like this concept at all.
If I did need a favor from my friends, I would have directly asked them, Why make them get registered with SkillPages. This concept looked like a ploy to get many email addresses for email lists. So, I did not recommend myself to any of my friends.
I started getting mails from SkillPages, which began with a welcome note, and which explained How I could gain from my network of connections. If I had good connections, Why would I be registering with Skillpages in the first place.
These days, mails I get from skillpages include opportunities that it thinks match my profile. I got a mail sometime ago, which had links to an opportunity for a freelance writer. Price offered for an article also seemed decent enough, only problem was, when I clicked the link, my chrome could not find it. Now that was fishy.
I do not like such websites that are not easily found. I realized I could never login by clicking on the link given in my mail. I had to search for skillpages online and then login, for I had not bookmarked this page yet. But when, I am logged in facebook, I can easily login to my account and also search for opportunities.
I did see one such good opportunity, the person who is searching for writing skills, also seemed polite enough and welcomed sample articles, hoping to hire a writer in his team.
When I wanted to apply for this opening, It just gave me a text box and an apply button. I assumed I have to paste my sample article, in this text box. But alas! I could not paste more than 400 words.. When the writer wants around 600 word articles, I should be able to post at least a 400 word article and talk about myself too. There is also no option to attach sample articles. The text box was actually meant to introduce myself.
Given the website's poor performance(it takes lots of time to apply, or browse), I am yet to find, if it is useful to get registered with.
